Rockstar Games has officially pushed back the release of Grand Theft Auto VI to May 26, 2026, confirming that the most anticipated game of the decade won’t be landing in 2025 after all. It’s undeniably disappointing news — GTA VI was the game everyone had their eyes on. The hype was unmatched. But if the delay means we’ll get a better, more polished experience, I say: let them cook.
While fans are left hanging for another year, the silver lining is clear — 2025 just opened up in a big way for other titles. One standout contender? Crimson Desert.
This ambitious open-world action RPG from Pearl Abyss has been gaining serious momentum and could now be in a prime position to steal the spotlight. With GTA VI out of the race, Crimson Desert has a real shot at Game of the Year — and based on early gameplay and previews, it’s looking like a title that could truly deliver.
